Higher or Lower
A secret number is hiding between 1 and 100. Every guess tells you to go higher or lower, and the range closes in. In party mode, whoever lands on it loses.
How to play
- 1Choose Party or Solo, then a range: 1–50, 1–100 or 1–500. The app picks a secret number nobody can see.
- 2In Party mode, players guess in the order of the list. After each guess the app says Higher or Lower, and the range shrinks.
- 3Whoever says the secret number sets off the bomb and loses the round. They go first in the next one.
- 4In Solo mode, keep guessing until you find it. Fewer guesses earn a better rating, and your best score for each range is saved on this device.
House rules and tips
- Penalty ideas: the loser picks the next song, tells their worst joke or fetches the snacks.
- Playing it safe means staying away from the middle. Feeling brave? Guess the number right next to one that was just ruled out.
- Make it harder with the 1–500 range, or give everyone five seconds to answer.
- When only one number is left, the next player has no way out. Count ahead so it isn't you!
- Solo strategy: always guess the middle. That finds any number from 1 to 100 in seven guesses or fewer.
Questions
Can anyone see or change the secret number?
No. It's picked at random when the round starts and only revealed at the end. Every number in the range is equally likely, and we test that.
What if I type a number that's already ruled out?
The app won't take it and shows the range that's still open, so nobody loses a turn to a slip of the finger.
What does the shared link show?
It replays every guess of the round in order, with who said what, so your friends can see exactly how it ended.
Is my best score uploaded anywhere?
No. Solo best scores stay on your device, one for each range.
