The bomb has a secret fuse somewhere between 10 and 45 seconds. Tap Pass and hand the phone on. Whoever's holding it when it blows loses the round.
How to play
- 1Add 2 to 12 players and sit in a circle in the same order as the list.
- 2Tap Get the bomb ready. The app picks who starts and sets a secret fuse between 10 and 45 seconds.
- 3Hand the phone to the first holder. They light the fuse, tap Pass and hand the phone to the next person, who does the same.
- 4The ticking speeds up as the end gets close but never gives away the exact moment. Whoever's holding the phone at the boom loses.
House rules and tips
- Topic round: the holder has to name something from the topic before passing. Stuck, or repeated an answer? Keep holding until you think of a new one.
- Penalty ideas: the loser does a silly dance, sings a line of a song or sits out the next round.
- Play a few rounds and keep score. The first to blow up three times clears the table.
- Hand the phone over gently with both hands. A hurried double tap only counts once, so nobody gets skipped by accident.
- Somewhere quiet? Mute the ticking. The bomb still shakes faster near the end.
Questions
Can anyone tell how long the fuse is?
No. Each round's fuse is a random length between 10 and 45 seconds, and the moment the ticking speeds up changes every round too. There's no countdown on screen.
Why does the sound only start after I tap?
Browsers only allow sound after you touch the page. The ticking is generated live in your browser, so there's nothing to download.
Is it fair who gets the bomb first?
Yes. The first holder is picked at random and everyone has the same chance. We test the random picks to make sure.
What does a shared result show?
Who was holding the bomb, how many passes it took and how long the fuse burned. Your friends see the same result you did.
